2 lbs ground beef
2 (15 ounce) cans tomato sauce
2 (15 ounce) cans kidney beans, drain half the liquid
2 (15 ounce) cans pinto beans, drain half the liquid
2 cans diced tomatoes, drained
1 cup onion, diced
1/2 c. green chilies, diced
1/4 c. celery, diced
2 -3 tsp. cumin
3 Tbs. chili powder
1 1/2 tsp. black pepper
2 tsp. salt
2 c. warm water
Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat, drain off the fat. (Use a fork to stir and chop hamburger into small pieces the whole time it cooks.)
In a large pot, combine the beef plus all the remaining ingredients, and bring to a simmer over low heat.
Cook for a couple hours, stirring every 15 - 20 minutes.
Serve with shredded cheese, sour cream, and Fritos.
